Dingenskirchen Beta 1

----- Custom map for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory -----

This map is a collaboration between Phisherman and KeMoN and the result of more than a year of more or less continuous development. It was created as a tribute to the good old times of RtCW and was originally intended to be released for the 10th birthday of WolfET. We didn't make it on time but we still hope it will bring back some memories to the old-schoolers amongst you. Since this is the first public release, any feedback (ranging from bad texture-alignment to glitches) is welcome.

The .map source-file is planned to be released some day, but please understand that we would like to improve the map before any conversions based on an old version are created. So please, if you find a bug, do NOT release any unofficial scriptfixes etc, as this will only cause confusion. If you find a bug, please post HERE or write me an eMail/PM, and I will release an official fix or a new map version.

-----Storyline-----

December 1944: The noose tightens around the Reich's neck as Allied forces threaten to cross the Siegfried Line and advance into Germany. In a strategy meeting in an Eifel castle, German high command has worked out plans on how to repel the invaders. Allied intelligence wants these plans destroyed before they can be distributed to the front line.

This map has three main objectives instead of one, two of which must be completed by the Allies in order to win the match. This was done in an attempt to prevent the massive objective camping by the defending team on some maps.

Allied mission:

  • Repair and steal the axis tank located in the village.
  • Capture the village spawn and escort the tank past all obstacles and use it to blow open the Castle Gate.
  • Map Objective 1/3: Steal an ancient treasure which the Axis have hidden inside the castle wine cellar.
  • Map Objective 2/3: Blow up the axis high command conference room to sabotage the coordination of the axis troops.
  • Map Objective 3/3: Retrieve a microfilm containing axis war secrets which an OSA agent managed to get hold of and swallow before being killed by the German forces.

Wolfenstein: The New Order Pre-Orders Get DOOM Beta Access

Bethesda and MachineGames released a new trailer today for Wolfenstein: The New Order and announced the release dates for latest installment in the classic series. Wolfenstein: The New Order will be available in North America on May 29, with the European release following on May 23. The rather bloody new gameplay trailer introduces us to BJ Blazkowicz, protagonist of later Wolfenstein titles and now a resistance fighter in Nazi-controlled 1960s America. Unlike other Wolfenstein titles, The New Order is strictly a single player first person shooter.

Along with the release date and trailer, Bethesda and MachineGames announced a tempting pre-order bonus for Wolfenstein: The New Order. All pre-orders of the game will include an invitation to access the DOOM beta, details of which will come at a later time. More info about the pre-order bonus is available from the official Wolfenstein site.

Wolfenstein-Trailer BOOM BOOM kündigt Doom(4) Beta an

SPLATTERLADDER HOSTING - a new service from splatterladder.com

The brain behind splatterladder has brought a new idea to life to contribute a very easy, very affordable possibility for everyone to host an own Enemy Territory Gameserver for a ridiculous low price of 6.40 EUR per month on a gentlemens agreement base for a 32 slot Gameserver.

I repeat that for you to assure you have read right: 32 slot ET Gameserver for 6.40 EUR per month!

HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? The one or other of you might ask.

It is possible because we see this as a service for and to the community, not a way to start earning money. The calculation is quite simple:
A suitable Root-Server would cost about 70 Euro / month + round about 100 Euro setup fee (Intel® Xeon® E3-1270 v3 + 32GB ECC Ram + 2TB HDD [raid1] + 20TB free traffic @ 1Gbit/s [they assure at least 200Mbit / s] , after 20TB the speed will be lowered for the remaining days of the month.) This configuration should be suitable for round about 12 - 15 gameserver with 32 slots each.
Lets do an example with 12 Gameservers: 12 x 6.40 = 76.80 EUR per month. That means the setup fee will automatically be paid after 15 months of continous rental from the serverhost (6.80 x 15 = 102 EUR).

WHAT DO I GET FOR MY MONEY? This is also a good question.

We can´t deliver 24/7 support or any fast response if there occurs a problem. What we can do is offer you a pretty nice and easy to understand Gameserverpanel with ftp support to upload your files. You may ofc. use any other ftp client. Within the Game Manager you have the chance to fast start / stop / restart the server, watch a basic Game-Monitor and we guarantee daily backups of your server.

WHAT IS THIS GENTLEMENS AGREEMENT THING?

We dont want to bind you with a long term contract or a big payment in advance, so we thought the best way for anyone to try it out would be to pay on a monthly base. If too many people try the service and cancel after one month we will have to pay the due for the rented Server, so we would like to see you keep it longer than one month only thanks.gif To be honest, we do not believe that you will cancel it, after you have tested it.

WHAT MODS CAN I USE?

We have preinstalled the following mods as templates so all you have to do is choose a mod, upload your files, edit the server.cfg and mod.cfg and then start your server.
etjump, etlegacy *, etnam *, etpro, etpub *, jaymod *, nitmod *, noquarter *, silentmod *, tjmod (* = Omni-Bot enabled)
If you like to take a peak to the Game Server Panel we have installed, try: https://splatterladder.com/server with the logindetails: testuser - testuser

WHAT ABOUT LAG? Whats that? grin.gif

You can test it yourself on two servers that use our new Splatterladder Hosting Service already. Check it out on one of these early testers Gameservers that use our new feature for some days now.
https://et.splatterladder.com/?mod=serverinfo&idx=756633 Server running ET Pub 1.0.0 with Omnibot
https://et.splatterladder.com/?mod=serverinfo&idx=756634 Server running Jaymod 2.1.7 with Omnibot

If we got your attention with these lines, we look forward to see you grabbing your own ET Gameserver asap.

Missing in Action (final) - a new map created for ETNam Mod

The storyline:

After the last big attack, Charlie (Vietcong), have managed to capture 3 allied soldiers. These soldiers will be interrogated for any valuable information they may have. The soldiers are being held in a secret P.O.W. camp in the Pleiku jungle, awaiting their fate.

Fortunately, U.S. armed forces pick up a Vietcong radio transmition in which they learn the whereabouts of the allied P.O.W.'s and they send in a rescue squad that are camped nearby.  Equipped with a Huey helicopter they are flown to a drop-off point where they will have to navigate their way through the jungle to the P.O.W. camp.

Once there, they will have to blow the maingate and get the M.I.A.'s out of the Vietcong camp, one by one, then bring them to the safety of the allied camp hospital. The Vietcong forces, however, will do all in their power to prevent this.

I'm happy to announce that the CyberGamer Anticheat now supports Enemy Territory! Effective immediately, CGAC is mandatory in all CG EU ET ladder matches. Read the rest of this newspost for more information.

Quote by CyberGamer EU...we have now included support for Enemy Territory and we shall be looking to provide continuous updates to support this game in as many ways as possible. We are aware of the community's desire for a screenshot function and we are beginning to explore the best method to sufficiently meet this criteria. Further details will be released as they become available, but we aim to provide this as soon as possible.

To install CGAC, follow the steps below. Once you have installed the software, on your first launch the program will automatically update to the latest version.

  1. Download the installer here.
  2. Extract the .zip file.
  3. Make sure you have .NET framework 4.0 installed. If you do not have .NET framework 4.0 installed, you can download it here.
  4. Run setup.exe from within the extracted folder.
  5. To find your User ID and Auth Key, go to your Extended Profile page and click "Game IDs" in the "GAME DEFAULTS" section. You'll find your information at the top of that window.

If you experience any troubles installing the software, please make sure you add an exception to your antivirus, have extracted the .zip file, and are running the program as administrator.

As stated above, CGAC must be used in all ladder matches played on CyberGamer. Simply open CGAC.exe, enter the match ID, and start playing.

By scrolling down on the match page, you can see which players are currently running CGAC along with all logs for that match. If CGAC is active, it should display "CGAC running" in green text.

Playing a match on the CG EU ET 3on3 or 6on6 ladder without CGAC will result in a forfeit loss.

Please note that the CG EU ET crew and I are not experts on CGAC, so all queries regarding technical support should be directed to badkip, the developer. You can contact him by posting in his journal or opening a support ticket on the CyberGamer website.

RtCW SP Industrial Espionage - Engineer Assassin by W0lfman

=== BACKGROUND STORY ===

World War II rages on in 1943 with no end in sight. The Kreisau Circle has gained intelligence that a top-ranking German engineer is scheduled to arrive for an inspection of a key manufacturing facility. Termination of this engineer would be a critical blow to the German war machine. Therefore, the Office of Secret Actions orders that Agent B.J. Blazkowicz be sent on an assassination mission to this facility.

=== MISSION BRIEFING ===

You are ordered to infiltrate a German manufacturing facility and terminate the engineer who is scheduled to lead an inspection therein. A double-agent working at the facility has arranged for the elevator to malfunction. After termination of the engineer, your best chance of a quiet escape is through the steam tunnel located beyond the main warehouse.

=== MORE ABOUT THIS MAP ===

I started working on this mission in February 2013, and had a beta test version by the end of December 2013. It would have been released in summer 2013, but the project was set aside for several months as I was working on a major redesign of my web site instead. This is my second mission for Wolfenstein.

The style and difficulty of game play should be similar to the official Wolfenstein maps. I made extra effort to build replay value into this map. It won't be exactly the same game each time you play.

The large warehouse full of crates is based upon the Government Warehouse from Indiana Jones. The room after the warehouse, the one with the barrel ceiling, is based on a picture of a prison block that I saw in a magazine. I think it was Alkatraz. It was all concrete, two levels, with the center open to below.

There are two secret areas in this map, and they are around the same place. One is fairly easy to reach. The other one is a bit trickier to reach.

I appreciate the play testing and feedback given to me by the following people:
- vicpas

=== INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ===

Place the df_eng.pk3 file in your Wolfenstein/Main directory, then boot Wolfenstein, open the console, and type /spmap df_eng to start playing.

The source file is included so you can see how the map was made and you can make your own changes. You do not need any permission to use ideas or any part of this map in your own work, nor permission to release any map you created based upon it.

Py(thon)EnemyTerritory is a server-side plugin based on the existing mod ETPub 0.9.1. This plugin allows you to use the Python programming language as a scripting language.

PyET resembles the LUA support which is included in some mods like ETPro. The advantages of using Python instead of LUA are that it's much better documented, easy to use and rich in libraries.

Now the plugin is designed to be runnable on every ET mod.

Welcome to CyberGamer EU, Enemy Territory! With ESL dropping support for ET in May and ClanBase shutting down entirely last month, teams were left with no competitive ladders to participate in. By simply taking a quick look at the GamesTV match schedule, it is obvious that the lack of a ladder system is rather detrimental to the activity level of our beloved game. However, thanks to some help from Netherlands timbolina, I was able to get in contact with a CoD4 league who is interested in providing the ET community with ladders and more.

I am very happy to announce that CyberGamer EU now officially supports ET!

CyberGamer (CG) is a competitive gaming league that was founded by two Australian gamers in April 2007. It was originally for AU only, until July 2011 when CyberGamer Europe was launched. Today, the CG EU PC platform supports three games: Call of Duty 4, League of Legends, and Enemy Territory.

The Australian ET scene, led by Australia biggz and Australia volta, has been involved with cups and ladders on CG AU for several years, but CG EU has never had an official ET section - until now, at least!

CyberGamer has been kind enough to offer us a brand new CG EU Enemy Territory section on their website for running cups, ladders, and more, and are even in the process of developing their own anticheat called CGAC. The anticheat was released very recently and can only be used in CoD4 at the moment, but they are still working on it and may introduce a version for ET as well. I've also been told that a new CG website will be coming in a few months with some vast improvements.

So without further ado, here are the two new CG ET ladders:

CyberGamer ET 6on6 Ladder
Create a team - Read the rules
CyberGamer ET 3on3 Ladder
Create a team - Read the rules

The structure, rules, and maplists should be familiar as they are very similar to those which we had at ClanBase. However, please read the ladder rules carefully before playing.

Finally, allow me to introduce the four CG ET admins:
Slovenia Aniky
Canada embarrassed
United States of America ohurcool
Poland szczurek

As you can see, I will be joined by Aniky and szczurek from the ClanBase ET crew as well as embarrassed from the GamesTV admin team. We are very excited about this new opportunity and will be doing our best to ensure it is a success!

My suggestion is to check out the FAQ before doing anything else, since it may take some time to get used to how things work on CyberGamer.

Any questions, comments, or suggestions? Feel free to join and idle on our new IRC channel: #cg.et!
